A Natural Way to Heal

Dr. Solinger is a Naturopathic Doctor and a firm believer in taking a holistic approach to healing. Through Root Health L.L.C, she strives to align people and promote well-being in order to keep the mind, body, and spirit healthy.

Root Health L.L.C utilizes Naturopathic Health, a distinct system of health care emphasizing prevention, support, and optimal health.

The scope of conditions that are supportable with Naturopathy is vast.

Common issues such as infections, hormonal imbalances, skin issues, and minor injuries are successfully supported everyday by Naturopaths. Even more important is the prevention of, relief from, and reversal of chronic, serious, degenerating illnesses such as heart disease, diabetes, obesity, arthritis, auto-immune diseases, chronic headaches, allergies, and many more.

Natural Medicine

Contrary to popular belief, botanical medicine is not some ancient way of healing that no one uses anymore. Most of us come into contact with herbs every day! Common teas including chamomile, peppermint, and chai have specific functions on digestive and mental emotional health. Coffee is a strong digestive bitter and helps to promote digestion. Rosemary, thyme and oregano find their way into our kitchens regularly, but are also very strong anti-oxidants and inhibit the growth of bacteria. Even the main constituent of aspirin was historically sourced from the bark of the willow tree. As a matter of fact, many of our present pharmaceutical drugs are made from chemically manipulating the properties of these wonderful plants. How cool is that?

How Do Herbs Work?

Most people think of certain herbs being for certain conditions, such as St. John’s Wort for depression, but this view simplifies herbs into the pharmaceutical system that we’re used to. Herbs are not that simple. While pharmaceuticals chemically derive certain properties from herbs and remove the others, traditional herbs work holistically, meaning they find balance within the body. This means that St. John’s Wort doesn’t always necessarily increase serotonin like an anti-depressant medication, but rather works toward balancing all the neurotransmitters within the specific individual. St John’s wort is also an anti-inflammatory, nerve-healing, liver protective, and sedative herb.

How Does Dr. Solinger Use Herbs?

Dr. Solinger creates custom herbal combinations based on each individual considering their constitution, ailments, and health goals. Herbs are often coupled together to make a synergistic compound that’s specific to you. Herbs are always given with the intention of them being a short-term remedy. Dr. Solinger’s healing plans include rotating herbs to speed up good outcomes and retrain the body to start optimizing itself without outside influence.

Most commonly, Dr. Solinger utilizes tinctures, which are herbs distilled in alcohol or glycerin in a concentrated manner. It allows for high doses of herbs in an easy to take liquid dropper. She also loves using medicine in tea form. Who doesn’t like healing over a nice cup of hot tea? Occasionally, she’ll recommend taking herbs in pill form if very high, standardized doses are needed for a time.

Many people associate the word homeopathy with any type of natural medicine. This is actually not true. Homeopathics refer to a specific type of natural medicine that involves using very dilute substances to stimulate the body’s healing. It is the oldest form of medicine around, which is why it’s namesake has become synonymous with all methods of treatment.

The way homeopathic remedies work is very simple – they stimulate your body to heal itself.

At its deepest level every individual’s body has a desire to be healthy and resilience against becoming ill. However, at times the physical, environmental, infectious or emotional stressors we are faced with can become so great that they throw our body “out of balance”; outweighing this resilience and leading to disease. A properly matched homeopathic remedy can give your body the gentle nudge it needs to get back on track; allowing self-healing to take place and decreasing its future susceptibility to disease. Therefore, the profound and often rapid improvement that takes place after taking a remedy is solely the result of your body falling back into balance and fulfilling its desire to be healthy.

What do you use homeopathic medicine for?

Homeopathic medicines are truly holistic, meaning they treat the entire person from the inside out. They can be used to treat acute conditions such as the flu or a bee sting, but where we have seen homeopathics really shine is with longstanding chronic conditions that are special and unique to each individual, or those that don’t fit into a specific diagnosis box. At Root Health L.L.C we have seen the biggest impact using homeopathics with anxiety, depression, chronic pain, or any of the “strange, rare or peculiar” complaints.

Are homeopathics safe?

Homeopathic medicines are fantastic because of their safety. Homeopathics do nothing other than stimulate the body to heal itself, so side effects are very rare. Homeopathics are even safe for infants, children, and pregnant women and can often be the only source of relief for these populations with limited options.
